When it comes to writing my posts I frequently start to plan them in my mind the night before I actually write them. The well documented benefit in doing this is that my subconscious mind will be working on the content while I sleep. And the next day the words flow. My belief and experience certainly proves this to be the case.
And last night was no different. I had a subject in mind, I had a plan and off I went to sleep.
But events this morning changed the plan.
I got a phone call from a friend first thing this morning who had a bit of a personal challenge he was trying to resolve. As the call progressed we started to come up with some different ways for him to look at the situation and by the time we ended the call I felt certain in my own mind and from the things he said that he was looking at the whole issue with a different mindset.
Out of that call came the idea for a post and as I couldn’t shake the thought out of my head I decided to make it the subject for today. So here goes.
I quote I’ve always found to be so true and one I have used often in my life is…..
“Out of every adversity comes the seed of equal or greater benefit” – by Napoleon Hill.
This quote highlights a very powerful habit that I would like to encourage you to make part of your portfolio of habits – part of your life.
How often have you experienced a situation where something happens to you and it immediately appears to be totally daunting, overwhelming?
You don’t know why it has happened and most likely your initial feeling is one of negativity and your internal dialogue just continues to make it feel even worse.
Now is it possible that very same event, after a period of time, turned into something unbelievably positive. It set in motion a chain of events that takes you on a new route in life or gives you the answer to a problem you have been struggling with for a long time.
I know it has happened to me more than once. The overall result for me is that I have got into the habit of looking for the good in every situation I am confronted with.
Why don’t you make this a habit in your life?
When a challenge occurs stop, take a deep breath and change your thinking. Ask the question – all things happen for a good reason so where is the good reason in this one!
I can sum the whole post up by asking to look for the good in everything and everybody and you will be surprised how often you find the good.
You just have to be looking for the good or the benefit. It is always there. When you believe in the idea idea of finding the good and look for it and you will find it.
If you look for the bad in everything or everybody most likely you will find it, and likewise if you look for the good in everything or everybody you will find it.
Make it your habits to be a good finder – always.
