good-habitsI want to take the opportunity of explaining to you, my reader, what the goal is I have set myself through my role as The Habits Coach.

For many years I have been drawn to the subject of self-improvement. I have read many books on the subject, watched videos, listened to audio information and attended seminars all with the goal of changing myself and as a consequence enjoy a better, more rewarding life.

But I would be the first to hold my hand up and say I haven’t always been successful in my pursuit of an improved me.

But I think the biggest frustration for me was the uncertainty of where I was going wrong. Instead I continued my search from one writer’s or creator’s opinion to the next and then the next and then the next and so on.

It was only a few years back that I realized that if I was to improve myself I had to adopt a more focused approach. I needed to take one single area of my life that I wanted to improve and look at that in isolation.

Then break that one area down again in one small section and make a commitment to change it, with the belief and knowledge that one small change at a time over any given period of time would ultimately be more successful than the approach I had been using to date.

Focused attention was what I needed and only when a change in one area was firmly in place, a habit, was I ever going to see any true benefit and improvement in my life. A better life is like putting together a jigsaw – select the a piece, identify its place and fix it firmly in place before you pick up the next piece.

It was as a result of my new thinking I realized what I was aiming for was either changing or creating new habits in my life and that by progressive changes to the habits that reflected the areas I wanted to improve I was actually building a better me. A self-improved me.

I had become my own Habits Coach and the excitement of what I was achieving for myself lead me to believe I could do the same for other people. People just like you. So the concept of The Habits Coach was born. And this website started to develop.

Your self-improvement starts right here with the first step of identifying habits that are holding you back in life, negative habits and working steadily to change them or replace them with good, positive habits.

I invite you to sign up for regular updates over in the sidebar and let’s enjoy the journey to self-improvement through habit changes together.

Plus I would love to receive your thoughts and comments in the box below.
